AudioslaveVEVO biography
Audioslave was an American rock band formed in 2001 by the lead singer of Soundgarden, Chris Cornell, and Rage Against the Machine, Tom Morello (lead guitar), Tim Commerford (bass/backing vocals), and Brad Wilk (drums), who were all from the band Soundgarden. Audioslave released three albums, received three Grammy Award nominations, sold more than eight million records worldwide and became the first American rock band to perform an open-air concert in Cuba, but disbanded in February 2007 after Cornell issued a statement saying that he was leaving the band and Morello and Commerford said they would no longer be a part of the band after Cornell's death, although Morello and Commerford continued to perform shows with Rage Against the Machine's lead singer Zack de la Rocha under the name of Prophets of Rage until the band officially broke up on May 18, 2017, following the death of Morello and Commerford,
